Day of the Dead

"Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is not a Mexican version of Halloween. Day of the Dead festivities is full of color and the point is to demonstrate love and respect for deceased family members. Today Mexicans from all religious and ethnic backgrounds celebrate Día de los Muertos, but at its core, the holiday is a reaffirmation of indigenous life." -National Geographic Society

Found these plastic skull at the DollarTree, and painted them with PlaidCrafts paint colors (FolkArt). The metallic ones are my favorite! They have a shimmer to them- you must try them out. I outline the skull with a pencil then handprinted the skull with #2 paint brush.

Let’s honor our love ones with vibrant & bright colors, indigenous patterns, and of course the combination of flowers!

I created a fun mask pattern to go with my outfit this year. I used my Cricut machine to cutout the vinyl. You'll have to try it our for yourself. Dia De Los Muertos face-mask.

As you know, a lot of my activities are for my toddler (2 year old) and coloring is a favorite activity at our household. I use Xyron Glaminator (also a laminator) to laminate most of my sheets so we can reuse them with dry eraser markers. Printout Ofrenda Page.
