Make Multiple Projects with Mod Podge Stiffy!

Give fabric some shape with Mod Podge Stiffy and see just how well it works—especially with our rainy, cloudy weather! I first spotted the Mod Podge Stiffy formula at Micheal's Craft Store and loved the fabric flowers shown on the packaging. That inspired me to try making my own marigolds, which fit perfectly with my Día de los Muertos-inspired projects. Of course, I couldn’t stop there—I also had to make some fun little ghosts! 👻🌼

DIY SKULL

How to make it: Shred cardboard into small pieces, then mix it with Mod Podge to create a thick, paper-mâché-like paste. Once the mixture reaches a moldable consistency, press or pack it into a silicone skull mold. Let it dry completely, then remove it from the mold. You’ll have a lightweight, textured skull ready to paint, decorate, or use for your flowers.

Stiffy vs. No Stiffy: Let’s Test It!

I wanted to see the difference between fabric treated with Mod Podge Stiffy and fabric without it. With all the rain and moisture here, I was curious to see how well the treated fabric would hold its shape. The results were pretty fun! The fabric without Stiffy became soft and floppy, while the fabric treated with Stiffy held its shape much better. It may be stiff, but it still has movement! That made it especially fun for the ghost project—the ghosts kept their shape while still having a little bit of movement.

DIY: Fabric Ghosts [Video coming soon...]

For this project, I grabbed a piece of white fabric and brushed Mod Podge Stiffy over it, making sure the fabric was thoroughly coated and soaked.
Next, I shaped the fabric over a balloon to create the ghost's head and used additional balloons to help form the arms. (Check out the video to see how I shaped it!)
Once everything was shaped, I left it to dry. The next morning, the fabric was stiff and held its shape!
