Felt Wall Decoration
Felt Wall Decorations for those sticky little hands. As you know lately I’ve been working with felt so I decided to use the felt as part our Easter decoration. It’s so much more fun when the decoration is interactive! I decided to make the paper banner and felt cutouts into stickers.
Materials you will need to create Felt Decoration:
- Polyester Stiff Felt Fabric Squares Sheets Assorted Colors 12x12 inch for Crafts
- Xyron Creative Station Lite, ( www.xyron.com/en-us/products/creative-station/view-all/ )
-Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint
1. I used the printouts of the banner to create the bunny & chicks as a stencil. Print the bunny banner on regular paper, then cut the bunny out to create a stencil. Or use your cutting machine to do this step.
2. Once you have the felt cutout I went ahead and hand painted them with fabric paint to give them more details (but you can also use the printout to create a stencil with the negative space). 3. That’s it. I fed the felt into the Xyron Creative Station Lite with the permanent adhesive 5”. I wasn't sure if the machine could do felt, but to my surprise it was very easy. AND the paper trimmer at the end of the machine can cut felt too (this was a hard lesson to learn since I cut the bunny's ear off).
My little one really enjoyed the felt cutouts that she moved them multiple times (as you can see in the end of the video). We even align the cardstock banners with the felt cutouts. It’s been a week and the decorations are still up so that’s a plus. I plan to keep them up for the month of April. This project is perfect for teachers or active toddlers at home.
