Let's talk AI
AI helps me with the tools around my art, but it doesn’t replace the artist behind it. The technology can help me create. The meaning comes from me.
How I Use Adobe Express in My Art Business
Work From My Phone
I love that Adobe Express is user-friendly and works right on my phone. Yes, I’m working while watching my kiddo’s soccer game! Haha. That flexibility helps me keep my small business moving, even on busy days.
Remove Photo Backgrounds
Adobe Express has AI-powered tools that help me remove backgrounds from photos quickly. This makes it easier to showcase my artwork and prepare clean images for my blog, website, and social media.
Create Stickers and Packaging
I use Adobe Express to create stickers for my artwork and product packaging. It helps me prepare designs that give my handmade products a more personal, professional touch.
Find Color Inspiration
One of my favorite features is the color palette tool. I can pull colors directly from an image, like corn, and use those colors as inspiration for my artwork. It’s a simple way to explore color combinations inspired by nature and the materials around me.
Make Time for the Handmade Work
Let’s be real: the tools can help me work faster, but I still have to do the work! Haha. I create handmade papier-mâché, paint by hand, develop original designs and illustrations, and prepare cultural installations for Día de los Muertos. I also lead workshops and give talks that connect art, culture, and community.
Keep the Creativity Personal
Adobe Express helps me save time on certain tasks, but the artwork, cultural storytelling, and hands-on creative process are still mine. Technology supports my work; it doesn’t replace the meaning behind it. For me, it’s about working smarter so I can spend more time creating meaningful art that honors our ancestors, culture, and community.
The handmade work is still mine.
The altar I build, the objects I create by hand, the details I choose, and the stories I bring into the space come from my own creativity, lived experiences, and cultural connections.
I’m not just decorating an altar. I’m creating an experience—a feeling and a connection to ancestors, land, labor, grief, and remembrance. Every object, image, and detail has a purpose. Adobe Express helps me explain my work (booklet/brochure/flyer), but there is history behind the choices, intention behind the placement, and meaning that goes beyond what an algorithm can generate.
